OFFICER SPOTLIGHT

Natalie Cox - Philanthropy Chair/Storkline Officer

Natalie is our Pediatric Philanthropy Chair and our Storkline Officer.

She is a Behavior Analyst who works with the Autism population.

Her better half, Rishi, is a third year IM resident. Rishi and Natalie enjoy spending time with their dog, Milo.

Natalie is hosting a monthly social event this month and hopes to see you all there! 

Sarah Henderson - Membership Secretary

Sarah grew up in San Jose, CA and is the mother of three children, Bennett (almost 7) Claire (5) and Alice (9 months). Sarah is in-house counsel at JP Morgan Chase Bank, focusing on eDiscovery and internal investigations. She volunteers as the membership secretary for the HSSA and also as a CASA youth advocate for Cuyahoga County. When not playing with her kids, working, or volunteering, you can find her in her garden, feeding her chickens, or reading her kindle. Her husband, Grant, is in his first year of interventional cardiology speciality.

FAMILY FUN

LOCATION:

Walter Stinsons Park

Bring your families (pups and littles included) for a playdate at the park. We’re partnering with Odd Dog coffee to provide warm beverages (made to order) and donuts while your littles get their morning wiggles out. Walter Stinson has plenty of play structures, a large green space and pavillion, providing lots of space for families to bring their blankets, lawn chairs and socialize at a safe distance.

Great Lakes Science Center

Put your recent Great Lakes Science Center membership to use and join us for an afternoon of exploration and fun. Kate Baker + family will be spending the afternoon between 4pm-8pm* on the 2nd floor of the Science Center (this kid friendly area is full of creative ways to discover science and use imaginations in a fresh way). We would love to see you there! There is food on-site or you can pack along dinner to eat in the cafe area. Please note that reservations are mandatory to visit so in addition to registering for the event here you will need to use your membership to make a reservation directly on the Great Lakes Science Center website. In addition, we will not be covering day ticket costs but those that are not members to the Science Center are still welcome to join but will be responsible for any fees. 
 
*hours are subject to change due to the Science Center Covid hours. They will be publishing their November hours soon and I will be in touch if anything changes.

We’re grateful for you, your partners and this community! Don’t worry about the bird and enjoy your holiday with your loved ones. We’re teaming up with local grocer, Miles Farmer’s Market to provide a Thanksgiving feast for 4. Meals will include:
– turkey
– cranberry sauce
– stuffing
– mashed potatoes
– green beans
 
Add your choice of pie for an additional $4 dollars:
– apple, pumpkin or pecan

Cleveland Museum of Art

Admission is free! You can book your own tickets for admission at a time that works best for your schedule. This museum is very stroller friendly and I have taken my 3 year old before too (he loves the swords and armour display). You can take a self guided tour, download the ArtLens App or just enjoy the beautiful atrium. There is a parking garage ($12), or metered parking on the street. They have many wonderul pieces of art including Monet’s Water Lillies!

Inspired by the hit movie, this holiday favorite comes to life as you and your family take a magical trip on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride! Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, families are sure to enjoy their trip to the North Pole in the luxury Silver Solarium car. Covid-19 safety precautions are in effect, which include limited seating per car, masks required for all guests over 2 years old, and temperature checks prior to boarding. On the way back home a masked Santa greets guests and each child will receive their own sleigh bell!
