WHO WE ARE

The House Staff Spouse Association is a non-profit organization sustained by Cleveland Clinic Foundation. We provide support and a community for the spouses and families of the residents and fellows at Cleveland Clinic.  We know these training years can often be unique and particularly difficult experiences for medical families and we hope that you’ll find a sense of empathetic community within our group.

WHAT WE DO

The HSSA plans events each month to provide opportunities for our members, their significant others and children to socialize with other members and explore the Cleveland metropolitan area. Additionally, the mission of Cleveland Clinic HSSA includes supporting in-patients in the Cleveland Clinic’s Children’s Hospital through the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Child Life Department. Child Life recognizes that hospitalization and illness can be a stressful and scary time for both pediatric patients and their families. Child Life Specialists work alongside the medical staff to help children and their families understand and manage healthcare experiences. The HSSA assists these efforts by regularly providing “Wish List” items that go directly to pediatric patients in play spaces, waiting rooms, at bedside, and for special occasions or accomplishments.
